People dont like needless respec costs, thats the bottom line. See The Division, Diablo 3, or Marvel Heroes for example. You can disagree all you want - but your post is about your opinion, whereas mine is stating the simple fact that respec costs *are* an antiquated system and the evidence is visible in the recent games that either have or are in the process of moving away from such a thing - or are designed initially to allow for skill use flexibility without cost. See, if we had no respec cost, -you- could still choose to roll up another character to level, to preserve this 'uniqueness' you mention, while -I- could choose to respec my skills and carry on - we'd both get what we want and it wouldnt affect anyone elses gameplay experience. Perhaps -you- like building up multiple characters of the same class - many of us do not, additionally, many of us do not have the time to devote to creating character after character until we get figure out a build that works for us. Instead of wasting time building up another character of the same class to try something different - you can rework their skills and get back to doing what you're there for - killing lots of bad guys and getting shiny loot.
Why bothering level up another _? Thats exactly my point. And you have to do bounties anyways to get your faction rep. OP: Either cheat, nothing wrong with it, or do bounties. I.e BL2, why bother leveling another Zero, when your existing Zero can be *anything*, more or less for free. Why bother building up another witchblade when I can respec my existing witchblade at the blink of the eye. Completely disagree, it ruins the uniqueness of a char. More and more games are moving to systems where you can freely pick and choose from your available skills as you play - and it ALWAYS makes a game more enjoyable.
